I had a whole other blog post in mind for today but you know when something just doesn’t come together quite the way you wanted. Yeah. That.
So instead I decided to do a quick share of one of my absolute favourite recipe discoveries. Super easy crusty bread!
For me bread is one of those foods I just can’t live without, and a gorgeous crusty loaf, freshly baked and still warm from the oven is such a simple and wholesome pleasure. I never thought I would be able to make bread that was any good. I thought I’d settle for begging loaves off my mother-in-law, who is one of those sickeningly talented women who manages to whip up a fresh loaf and a pair of curtains before I’ve even got out of bed!
Anyway that was until I discovered this recipe. It really is so simple and yummy and I have never had a bad loaf from it! I mean look how amazing this looks…
…I know, I know, now your mouth is watering and you want to eat it right? You should. It’s amazing.
Do you want to know the moment when I thought I might actually be able to pull this recipe off? When it said:
“The dough will look like a shaggy mess. That’s ok.”
YES! Yes it does look like a shaggy mess…AND IT’S SUPPOSED TO! Mission accomplished.
It takes about 5 minutes to whip up the dough, needs to be left overnight, and a couple of hours on the day you want to eat it to preheat the oven/bake etc. Special thanks to Janet over at Simply so Good for sharing this recipe. Now off you go happy little bakers, give it a whirl and let me know how it turns out!
